We’re excited to share that oper8r has raised funding. This marks our very first outside investment. The round was raised via a standard YC-style post-money SAFE led by a family member who’s believed in me for a long time and believes in the viability of oper8r as a product and business. We have 15+ paying customers and are already profitable; we've validated oper8r and this investment is about accelerating what’s working.
Why Take Money If You’re Already Profitable?
oper8r has been profitable from the start with a low burn rate, allowing us to focus on building without desperation. We debated internally: stay fully bootstrapped or accept aligned capital from someone who shares our vision? Ultimately, we chose the latter because this funding provides a longer runway to prioritize product innovation and customer experience and helps to mitigate near-term survival bias in our decision making. It enables us to hire key talent, build critical features, and ship faster. We are oper8ing with a long-term, responsible growth mindset, without pushing "growth at all costs."
How We’ll Use the Capital
- Product: Narrow our focus on becoming the best tool in the market for responding to RFPs and security questionnaires.
- Customer Experience: Streamline self serve capabilities, improve docs/support, and cut customer feedback to product solution cycles.

Ship v2 of Spreadsheet Processing

Ship v2 of Document Processing
Not a complete overhaul like spreadsheet processing, but these improvements will include:
- The ability to edit a selection, instead of processing the entire document every time.
- Removal of all "manual" settings, goals and content types. The agent will intelligently route the request based on your instructions and intent.
- Accept, reject, keep both and try again options to interact with the agent's edits.
- Versioning and history.
- Output speed.
Close our Next 5 Enterprise Contracts
A relatively conservative goal of 5 closed contracts before July makes oper8r completely self sustainable as a business and eliminates the need for any further outside capital. By bolstering our engineering capacity, I can allocate more of my time to business development.
